A Plan and a Sale

Here is a letter I sent out to my overseas retailers:

Because of recent developments with the CPSC and the new CPSIA laws coming into effect February 10th, Toddler Tech USA will no longer sell Snapcessorized Dapper Snappers or Snapcessories. The cost involved in having the accessories tested is not within our budget and testing is required for all children's products (ages 12 & under), even if they are being exported. Our Original line of Dapper Snappers will still be available for sale. We are testing them now for compliance with the new laws. If you would like to order any Snapcessorized Dapper Snappers or Snapcessories, you will have to do so by February 1st. As an added incentive, if you place your order by January 15th, you will receive an additional 10% off. As always, any orders over 130 pieces will qualify for free shipping. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

So that is that... Meanwhile, I have a bunch of Snapcessories in inventory that need to go. I bought them and will lose a lot of money if I can't get rid of them. So here's the deal:Get 10% off your Snapcessories/Snapcessorized Dapper Snappers by using coupon code cpsia10off. Oh, and I'm not above begging. So please help me get rid of this inventory before it's too late!

What is a Snapcessory?

A Snapcessory snaps around the back center belt loop to add style to your child's Dapper Snapper. Here's the gist of how it works:

You can buy them singly, or as a Snapcessorized Dapper Snapper. You could even make a custom Dapper Snapper (like in your favorite sports team, school colors, or just to match an outfit) and add a Snapcessory to it! So make sure you order now. I will only have these until the run out or it's February 1st, whichever comes first. If you have any questions or want to order one that's not on our site, please contact me.

Here's what I have left in stock:

2 Hello Kitty's
(These are on the website, so you will have to contact me directly for them)

2 Pigs

1 Monkey

2 Pandas (with or without Bow)
(These are also not on the website, so contact me)

3 Lime Cupcakes

Lots of Leather Footballs

1 Embroidered & Felt Football
(Again, not on website. Please contact me.)

Ugh...don't get me started on the new regulations...

Question for you...can you use these without the DapperSnapper? Just as an accessory? It looks like you can, but I want to make sure.

I'm a contributor on BurbMom.net & have two parenting/family blogs, and would love to write an article about this product & help take some off your hands!

I plan to write a review of a DapperSnapper once I order one, but in the immediate time, I'd love to put up these accessories!

Please let me know if these work just by themselves...my email is crazyzeus1 at aol dot com.

What a fabulous product...grrr...sorry you have to stop selling!

You could absolutely use these without the Dapper Snapper. As a matter of fact, someone I know was snapping them around her daughters pony tails. Very cute!

Why not continue selling them, but make sure you put a disclaimer on the product saying it's not for use on children, or that it is a novelty item (you know, the way they put the disclaimer on sex toys) and let the parents make the decision to give it to their kids?

You can't still sell overseas with the new law? I thought it was just for products sold in the US?
